One off payment on HDB loan…

—

We received a letter from HDB last nov or dec, suggesting to us to make a one off payment of $5000 to our HDB loan.

By doing so, we will save $3000+ in interest! It blew my mind when i saw that. Pay $5000, n you save $3000.

These are the type of big ticket items that we should be trying save! Not scrimping on a cup of latte to save $6.

I have read this before from the author of I will teach you to be rich, Ramit Sethi.

I think i understand it now. Just by paying off an addition $5000, i am saving $3000. How many cups of latte do i have to scrimp to save $3000?

I have written about this latte factor. Would i rather be thinking about saving $6 or what can i do to earn more so that i can afford that $6 latte and what other big ticket items can i save money on (like the HDB loan).
