Hello, I’m Suz.

I’m 45, I live in Singapore, and in September 2026 I did something I never thought I’d have the nerve to do: I left my tech job without another one lined up.

For years, I spent my evenings and weekends quietly building a portfolio of dividend stocks and income ETFs, partly out of curiosity and partly because I wanted a safety net. Now that portfolio pays my bills, and I’m learning, in real time, what it actually feels like to live without a monthly salary.

Suz Money Life is about money and life, because for me the two have never been separate.

• Money: the real numbers behind the funds I hold, including what I bought, the payouts I received, withholding tax and how they have performed. You’ll also find plain-English comparisons of ETFs I’ve looked into, from a Singapore investor’s point of view.
• Life: what leaving work in your mid-forties is really like, the wobbles and the small wins, and the everyday decisions that come with it.

I started this blog back in 2020, when I was still working full-time and trying to figure out financial independence. A lot has changed since then. My daughter is nine now and keeps me grounded, but the reason I write hasn’t changed: to share honestly what I’m doing with my money, mistakes included, in case it helps someone else on a similar path.
